Jim Kershaw

James Kershaw, CKD

James Kershaw’s interest in drawing and design began in high school. Upon graduation, he was hired as an industrial draftsman.  From there, he developed a fascination for architecture and began attending college at night while working as a draftsman for a local kitchen dealer.

Jim began a teaching career as an industrial arts teacher in 1968, which lasted for 31 years. He also stayed in the kitchen design business, working for several Bergen County design firms.

In 1981, Jim received his accreditation as a “Certified Kitchen Designer, and started his own business in the early 80’s.

Even though Jim began his kitchen and bath design career in 1963, he still loves his work, from the initial space planning through the completed installation. Every space, every client, is unique and it is never routine or boring. Our goal is to get the very best out of the space, and make a special environment for our clients; that is our satisfaction!

Patty Kershaw’s interest in the kitchen design began in a high school drafting course.

After attending drafting school she soon began learning from the best, James Kershaw, her father and mentor. While working with Jim in all aspects of the business she also did freelance drawings for several local kitchen design firms.

Soon she found herself working together exclusively with Jim in the family kitchen design business, becoming a partner in James Kershaw Associates 2009.

With almost 25 years experience working in the kitchen business, she gives much attention to design detail and engineering. She enjoys working with the client to make each kitchen special and personal. A satisfied client is the biggest reward.
